MICHAELCYCLE
Initially an attempt to layer up my own livestreamed performance multiple times in one sitting, essentially creating a one-man band involving multiple versions of myself - in reality this ambitious idea was not possible or practical.
Instead, MichaelCycle became a livestream in which I combined pre-records of myself plus guest players with my own livestreamed performance for a variety show-style online charity event, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree.
This Blue Christmas 2020 online special featured myself and Jed Potts hosting a 4-hour long stream curating submitted performances from the Blue Christmas crew plus special guests live segments. It raised over £1000 for charity.
LOCKDOWN LIVE STREAMS
Starting from scratch, at the beginning of the pandemic, I taught myself how to produce a livestream in various formats. I also began faciliating and tutoring others to get themselves set up in the most effective way, depending on their equiptment and budget, to explore livestreaming on their own.
Two weeks after lockdown hit in March 2020 I went live via Facebook Live with my first online solo concert. I streamed multiple solo shows at this time, with tributes to Neil Young and Joni Mitchell among others.
